me? I am somewhere in between comfy/causal and laid-back:-) As a rule for long flights, I carry a bucket hat and a scarf so if I am really messy, I can cover up...

everybody is lining up for IIFA......comfy casuals are the best.....i mean who want to sit more than an 2-3 hours in those tights.....it may be stylish....but kills you on long flight
ReplyDeleteNo no no no no. I'm old school.
ReplyDeleteI do dress comfortably so you would not catch me travelling long haul in jeans ever but I really don't like jeans as travel wear particularly if they're dressed down.
I believe that one should not only respect the country you are about to visit by making the effort to look good but also, you are a representative of your own country.
I'm not talking Victoria Beckham dressed to the nines but there is a healthy good-looking balance.
Plus there is dress code for lounges and the pointy-end but coach shouldn't have to suffer. If I owned an airline, I'd keep my tickets cheap and dress standards high!!!!
That's why I loathe the way Aussies travel!! Not all though, a certain demographic (GOD. That makes me sound like such a snob!!!) and I guess your 'version' would be the cliched American tourist...BUT... Suzanne Khan is wearing what we call the Bogan uniform!!! That's not a compliment!! I'm sorry, she may look comfortable but to my Indo-Aussie eye she looks trailer trash!!!!
....Plus of couse I have my bias towards Suzanne so she could be wearing vintage Halston and I'll still think she looks blah.
[poor Suzanne. Mum and dad beat up Zeenat and I dislike them for life. harsh much?]
I wear loose drape-waisted palazzo style pants in a jersey material so they don't wrinkle and layers on top.
Comfy and casual is what I like...a pair of jeans and a comfortable top..that is what I usually wear when I travel.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing comfy clothes with a pair of very comfy shoes. I cannot wear heels at all haha:
ReplyDeleteI love katrina's outfit there!
OMG! I wanna go write everything Dusk wrote [Except the Suzanne part, of course! Hahah] I wear jersey material harem pants a jacket or full-sleeves are a must!!! ... I only wear jeans on short flights and if I have to be somewhere straight from the airport, but are talking about long flights right? :) ... I like what Katrina is wearing though ... but then I am partial to her coz I love her ;)
ReplyDeleteAbt my blue puma shoes ... at home I wldn't pair that dress with those shoes either but while traveling comfort comes first for me ... Plus I didn't wanna wear open toes coz I had done pedicure and didn't wanna have dirty feet again ;) So that's my explanation for that ...
Will let Mom know what you said about her !!!
Also I like wavy hair too ... but I always prefer soft shiny locks coz I have a habit of running my fingers through them all the time ... It's hard to do tht in wavy and curly hair I assume ;)
Phew! That was long! Now I am thinking I shld have e-mailed instead :P
ReplyDeleteAlso! Excuse my typos. I shld definitely read before I click 'post' ...
ReplyDelete* I was gonna write ....
** We are talking ...
I want to stay comfortable and especially warm on long flights but I definitely dont want to look as if I have juts been out of bed..So jeans, pants, a big spacious handbag and scarf works for me and flats are a must too...I like what Lara is wearing, I think i like her most of the times..have kinda crush on her :))
ReplyDeletei wear slleveless top, leggings plus i bring a jacket in handy just in case :)
ReplyDeleteIt really depends where I'm going and who's on the other end if you know what I mean! I like to look chic but be comfy and warm. hugs doll!!
ReplyDelete@Dusk: u do have a bee in ur bonnet where Suzanne is concerned:-) u are right though, there is no excuse to dress dowdily esp when u are traveling...comfortable but chic seems to be ur motto. thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDelete@Tanvi: Yup, a jersey pant sounds perfect for long hauls..As u and Dusk mentioned, they wont wrinkle and layers on top keep u warm (its always freezing in the plane!!)
I think I'm closest to Katrina and Kareena (rhyme>!) styles!! Jeans are good for me for travel because they can handle so much wear...but they shoudln't be too tight or too loose. Since I prefer a jeans, I usually add the element of style with a better top...something that's not heavy on me and yet makes me comfortable enough to sit in the cold for hours together, if I'm not carryinga jacket, that is!! :)
