Shilpa wears one of the hottest trends of Spring, 2011 - colorblocking. The outfit colors are loud and pack a punch. Love the exposed zipper trend and the fluid draping of the skirt. The outfit is amazing, pity Shilpa got her accessories wrong..

Where: Ritu Kumar's fashion show

Mixing prints can be tricky and most of the times comes across as trying too hard. But when done right, its fashion utopia! I love the Sabayasachi outfit that Madhoo is wearing. And with messy, bed hair, Madhoo gives it a very boho-chic vibe.

Who: Lara Dutta
Were: Ritu Kumar fashion event

Lara looks radiant in a tiered, strapless gown. Does her presence at the show mean she will be wearing Ritu Kumar for her wedding? I am sure Manish Malhotra is throwing a fit somewhere:-)

Never knew Celina wore anything other than sarees! This is quite pretty. I hope its not once in a lifetime thing..

Another colorblocking dress, this time in geometric prints. Gul paired the dress with nude pumps and black clutch, giving the whole ensemble a very pulled together look.

Not sure why Bhagyashree had to hide her lovely features under a shaggy dog haircut! But the dog is rather cute, so I really cant blame her for copying:p

Red Carpet Event: Filmfare awards 2011(Part 2)

Who: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

No surprises here - was pretty sure Aishwarya will be in a saree. Just surprised that its not ugly or OTT!! The saree is very elegant and Aish looks graceful.

Who: Katrina Kaif

Katrina wore a Manish Malhotra creation which is stupendously beautiful! It looks like she walked off the ramp into the event:-) Given that the outfit is so blingy, Katrina kept her makeup and accessories minimal. Also surprised to her "girls" since Katrina rarely does cleavage..

Who: Preity Zinta

I am incapable of making an objective judgment here, becoz of my overwhelming affection for Preity Zinta:-)

Who: Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza

Any guess as to who Vidya is wearing:-)
The outfit doesnt need such a statement necklace and her hair isnt winning her any points today.

Dia kept it simple in a black saree (not sure if its a saree or lengha) with a lace top. Her top has a very unusual design. Close ups are below.

I do love the lace-y, sexy look but the the back is a little creepy - looks like the saree is coming out of her body!!

Who: Urmila Matondkar, Esha Koppikar, Mini Mathur

Urmila - Another Manish Malhotra creation. This guy certainly has a hold on the celebs:-)

Esha - Even though this look is simple, its one of her best looks. The rest of the times, she come across as trying too hard.

Mini - Love this woman's style. She is always looks effortlessly chic!

Who: Kajol, Kalki Koechlin

In case of any emergency, we all can use Kajol's oufit to parachute to safety!

Kalki has a quirky style but this is not quirky - this is what every starlet on a cheap budget wears! Dont loose ur individualism, Kalki - Fire the person who suggested this to you!

Red Carpet Event: Filmfare awards 2011(Part 1)

Who: Sonakshi Sinha

Looks like someone read our blogpost and took our advice! Sonakshi, finally in something that is youthful and bright. The color and the draping is just gorgeous and I love her cascading curls. The fresh look just hit the right note for the occasion. Congrats on winning the best debut of the year for 'Dabaang'.

Who: Genelia D'Souza, Neha Dhupia

Genezlia - Other than the color, there is nothing I like here.

On the fence for Neha's dress. The color and style is pretty neat but somehow the outfit falls flat and really doesn't excite me.

Who: Rani Mukerjee, Sridevi

Rani - This is the only pic available and can I just say WOW!! Love the way the fabric falls. The blue really compliments her skin color and the look is just tres magnifique!

Sridevi- Great color, great outfit but the creases are so bad that it distracts and completely takes away the beauty of the dress.

Who: Prachi Desai, Malaika Arora Khan

Not a big fan of Prachi but have to say she looks cute with the side plait. As for the dress, the bottom part could be used as a toilet brush, no?

Malaika - This woman is flawless. She only has one look - the cougar look and dayum, she has perfected it!!

Who: Amrita Puri, Suzanne Roshan

Finally, someone in scarlet red!! Both are great dresses - Amrita's dress is beautifully tailored (love the pleats on the bodice) and Suzanne has sexy draping. Suzzane went a little overboard with matching accessories and red hair so this one goes to Amrita.

Who: Mugdha Godse, Sameera Reddy

Even though her clutch color is a little jarring, I like Mugdha with her shiny, slick hair. She looks chic and sassy.

Sameera - This is how a dress designed by a 'split-personality soap-opera character' would look like - loud, loud and so OTT!!

Neck up she is looking pretty but the colors of her outfit are drab and dull. Even her beautiful smile cant save the dress.

Katrina is back in white, in an outfit that is too bridal. Take the sleeves out, add a belt and some sexy shoes (loubs) and maybe - nope, even that cant fix the dress!

The Filmfare awards 2011 awards are this Sat and I am dying see the red carpet coverage. After all, isn't that the most interesting part of any awards season:-)

We have already picked gowns for Sonakshi, Priyanka, Katrina, and Deepika. Today we look at Anuskha, Sushmita and Lara.

Anuskha Sharma

She has been nominate for Best Actress so we are sure of an appearance. A former ramp model, I am hoping she will bring her experience to the red carpet and not disappoint us. From what I have seen, Anuskha prefers dresses to gowns and is not into cleavage or minis. Here are my picks.

Is "Jack the ripper" tormenting Priyanka? Are jeans of celebs the new victims of this serial ripper?? While "Jack the ripper" is at it, can he please rip all her minis!! No, wait - Priyanka is quite incapable of noticing the difference and the last thing I want to see is ripped minis!!

Congrats to Neelam on her wedding. Wish them a long and happy married life!

What is there not to love!!? That is one stunning saree! The equally gorgeous top/blouse emphasizes her dainty clavicle bones and Shilpa looks very delicate and sophisticated here. A total slam dunk!

Whats there to love? Aishwarya dress is blah and Rani's dress is just tacky - Forever 21 meets Dollar store!!

Who: Karisma Kapur

How does Karisma do it - she is impossible chic all the times! Never into fashion fads, Karisma sticks to classy silhouttes in subtle colors with perfectly matched accessories. She is one of the few people who get get away with matchy-match stuff.

Who: Sonali Bendre

The first time I saw the pic, I liked Sonali's saree but the more I looked, the more I found it frumpy. She fares better in the multi-colored outfit and I love the color of her shoes.

Who: Raveena Tandon

The colors of Raveena's saree are pretty but the design/style combined with her hairstyle ages her by 20 years. She recovers very nicely with her outfit for the reception. Striking green color that plays well with the gold design, lovely halter neck top and exquisite necklace!

The crushed red velvet outfit is not that bad but the golden saree is the one that caught my eye . Teaming it with a golden-yellow clutch was a smart move. No to Amrita's Goldilocks hairstyle!

That red stops you in your track, doesn't it? Since the color is so eye-searing, I think the designer did a good think by keeping the saree simple - no superfluous embroidery - and letting the color be the star. The necklace is perfect with the saree. If Laila soared at the wedding, then she stumbled at the reception in that cheapy color combo.

Events: Mickey Contractor MAC bash

MAC cosmetics teamed up with Bollywood legendary makeup artist Mickey Contractor for a makeup collection for olive skin tones. The collection hit the MAC stores nationwide on Jan 6th. Here are the celebs at the MAC Mickey Contractor party.

Who: Deepika Padukone

Deepika just sold the complete Mickey's line for MAC to me - I cannot take my eyes off her! She looks stunning and I heart the red lips. Other than Rekha, we rarely see celebs wearing red lip color. I think this shade is perfect for olive skin tones. When I buy and apply the stuff from Mickey's MAC line, I better look like this or I want my money back!!

Who: Mickey Contractor with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya wore a black pantsuit which looks awfully similar to the one she wore to Armani show. Her makeup is flawless as usual. Aishwarya rarely misses the mark where her makeup is concerned. Her hair color is another story.

Who: Madhuri Dixit

If its velvet, it has to be Manish Malhotra, right? Her outfit maybe faulty but Madhuri gets her makeup right. Love her lip color. She is a classic beauty and her smile is one off the best in the industry.

Who: Priyanka Chopra

This girl really needs a stylist. If not for herself, at least for me - I am bored seeing her on the red carpet.
Priyanka's makeup is bad - her lips look so weird. I think a glossy finish rather than matte would have looked better.

Who: Avantika Khan

Avantika wore what has to be the most famous yellow dress of 2010 - Lanvin for HM. I love this dress but it overwhelms her petite frame. I rarely get to say this in bollywood but I think she should have gone for a smaller size. The yellow-green eyeshadow goes perfectly with the dress.

Who: Rani Mukerjee

Boring dress. Like her smoky eyes but the rest of the makeup is very dull.

Who: Natasha Poonawala, Surily Goel, Nandita Mahtani

I like everything about Natasha's dress - the print and the cut of the dress is just fab.
Like the print and color of Surily's dress but ruffle at the bottom kills the outfit. And she went for a nude look at a makeup event?? Doesnt look like her outfit cost that much!
