Red Carpet Event: Global Indian Flim and Television awards

Who: Prachi Desai, Sridevi

From her hair to her clutch to her gown color, everything is a winner here. Prachi looks fresh-faced and effortlessly polished. One of her best looks.
Sridevi is top-heavy and all this dress does is draw attention to her boobs. It looks like she is trying to cut off the circulation to her bust!! Great color, great dress but terrible fitting on the top.

Who: Sonali Bendre, Shriya Saran

Both sarees are stellar. Love Sonali's look better becoz of her top/blouse. You don't have to show a whole lot of skin to look good.

Who: Kajol, Zarine Khan

Kajol in a Manish Malhotra anarkali. Finally, she wore something that looks good on her!
Zarine Khan went for a fitted black/white anarkali and looks like she holding her breath:-) Does her outfit work for you or do you see Zebras?

Who: Vidya Balan, Mugdha Godse

Feeling no love for either of the two outfits.

Who: Ekta Kapoor

This is not a bad outfit for relaxing on a beach resort. For the red carpet, Ekta needs to ditch those ugly shoes and pretty much change into another dress:P

Red Carpet Event:Stardust awards 2011

Who: Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha

Anushka is elegant and lethal in a beautifully draped dress. I havent seen Anushka in a gown and she looks incredibly alluring in this color. Thankfully, she didnt add any necklace and kept it simple with silver earrings.
Sonakshi does love this style since she already owns this dress in mustard yellow. The pulled back hair, silver pumps - all give it a very sophisticated, chic look. Two thumbs up to the lovely color.

Who: Amrita Puri, Mehr and Arjun Rampal, Twinkle Khanna

Amrita wore a dusty pink, bodycon dress. I think the dress is rather cute with the over-sized flower but not happy with her shoe choice.
Its impossible to get a clear picture of what Mehr is wearing since she is clinging to her husband in very shot. Seeing how delicious Arjun looks, I can hardly blame her!
Twinkle wore an asymmetrical silver dress, teamed with silver shoes and earrings. I wish she had gone one size up becoz right now she looks tightly wrapped in a silver foil!

Who: Suzanne Roshan, Prachi Desai, Shraddha Kapoor

Like the streamlined look of Suzanne's dress and its a pity we cant clearly see the McQueen skull clutch.
Prachi - OMG, who did this to you??It should be a crime for anyone to step out in such a horrific outfit.
Shraddha - The skirt is very interesting and would have worked with a simple tank top. The clutch is too shiny for me.

Who: Neha Dhupia, Sophie Choudry

Neha wore a yellow/black Shane and Falguni outfit. Its a very striking dress and I think she does justice to this dress with her sleek, shiny hair and smokey eyes.
I love everything about Sophie's dress but wish someone more interesting had worn it.

Who: Rani Mukerjee, Sonali Bendre, Kajol

Black/gold is a very safe and boring combination on the red carpet. But the addition of the red blouse/top, upgrades this look. Smart choice, Rani.
I like how Sonali added a skinny belt to her red saree resulting in a silhouette different from a normal saree. I just wished she had worn a less glitzy top.
Kajol is one of my favorite actress but her dress choices really confound me!

Red Carpet Event: Filmfare awards 2011(Part 2)

Who: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

No surprises here - was pretty sure Aishwarya will be in a saree. Just surprised that its not ugly or OTT!! The saree is very elegant and Aish looks graceful.

Who: Katrina Kaif

Katrina wore a Manish Malhotra creation which is stupendously beautiful! It looks like she walked off the ramp into the event:-) Given that the outfit is so blingy, Katrina kept her makeup and accessories minimal. Also surprised to her "girls" since Katrina rarely does cleavage..

Who: Preity Zinta

I am incapable of making an objective judgment here, becoz of my overwhelming affection for Preity Zinta:-)

Who: Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza

Any guess as to who Vidya is wearing:-)
The outfit doesnt need such a statement necklace and her hair isnt winning her any points today.

Dia kept it simple in a black saree (not sure if its a saree or lengha) with a lace top. Her top has a very unusual design. Close ups are below.

I do love the lace-y, sexy look but the the back is a little creepy - looks like the saree is coming out of her body!!

Who: Urmila Matondkar, Esha Koppikar, Mini Mathur

Urmila - Another Manish Malhotra creation. This guy certainly has a hold on the celebs:-)

Esha - Even though this look is simple, its one of her best looks. The rest of the times, she come across as trying too hard.

Mini - Love this woman's style. She is always looks effortlessly chic!

Who: Kajol, Kalki Koechlin

In case of any emergency, we all can use Kajol's oufit to parachute to safety!

Kalki has a quirky style but this is not quirky - this is what every starlet on a cheap budget wears! Dont loose ur individualism, Kalki - Fire the person who suggested this to you!

Color me Orange

Kajol at a book launch

A rare sighting - my fave actress, Kajol at Gautam Rajadhyaksha's book 'Chechere' launch. She is preggers with her second child and is glowing!! What a gorgeous smile. Wish she did more movies, sigh...Pregnancy does strange things to you - like make u wear terrible outfits:-) This Manish Malhotra design is perfect for covering ur bump but the panels and the gaudy hemline are a complete no no...

55th Filmfare Awards - The sari brigade

Who: Sridevi

Sridevi looks very elegant and I totally digg her blouse but..There is always a but:-) I think the sari was too simple for the occasion. The color is very sophisticated but since there is only some beading at the borders, the whole thing looks a little dull..

Who: Kajol

Kajol is my favorite actress and its her first appearance on my blog!! Muah!!

Kajol has been very open in her disdain for dressing up which kind of breaks my heart since I dream about clothes:-) Well, all's fair in love, war and fashion. Lovely smile, honey, but even that cant save your outfit. The ribbons in the sari totally spoil it for me. The black/gold border is a good contrast with the tomato-red sari but the ribbons, the ribbons!! What was the designer smoking??...Pretty dramatic earrings!!

Who: Kalki Koechlin (Best Actress in Supporting Role for DevD)

The color of Kalki's sari is very similar to Sridevi's but because of the all-over embellishments, she looks more red-carpet worthy. Her blouse style is very difficult to pull off but I think she does a good job. Do note her cute hair accessory..My only crib - she should have gone for a bold, dramatic red lip-color.

Who: Mugdha Godse

I cant figure out if thats a sari or a skirt on top of sari with a dupatta or maybe my eyes cant take it anymore.. I do commend Mugdha for being consistent and persistent - she is always the worst dressed on the carpet. That must require a lot of effort, no??

Other celebs in Sari
Left: Urmila (long time, no see)
Right: Shabana Azmi (nice!!)

Left: Sophie (too busy a pattern)
Right: Udita Goswamy (thought its a screen test for item girls)

The award for best dressed in sari goes to:
Sridevi
Kajol
Kalki
Mughda
Urmila
Shabana
Sophie
Udita
