Events: Star Screen awards 2011

Who: Vidya Balan, Rekha

This is the best pic I have:(

Vidya fares better than her movie premiere wearing a rich orange saree. She won the Best Actress(Critic) award.
Rekha is her usual self - all decked up to out-bling and outshine any Christmas tree.

Who: Mini Mathur, Maria Goretti

Both the ladies might be a little understated for the red carpet but I love their sarees. Mini and Maria look chic in their elegant and simple sarees.

Who:Celina Jaitley, Mugdha Godse

Celina, Celina, Celina- Sigh, don't you get bored looking at yourself in the mirror?

Mugdha wore a black peekaboo saree with tacky red flowers. She really tends to screw up red carpet events so trust me when I say this is a decent look. Neck up, she does look very pretty.

Event: Laila Khan's Wedding Reception

This is going to be short and sweet post since its Friday night.. I wish I could say I have a rocking party to go to but the reality is I am sleepy:-)

Hits
Left: Dia, Right: Farah Ali Khan
An awesome appearance by the lovely Dia after a looong time!! Lovely shade of pista green and I love the design of the sari - how the embroidery density changes between the body of the sari and the pallu. Jewelery is a little un-coordinated.

Isn't Farah's outfit stunning and how divine is the top's hemline?? The purse looks like a last min addition as it doesn't gel with the outfit..Her necklace is stunning.

Left: Pooja, Right: Mallika (Zayed Khan's wife)
Pooja wore a golden gown which she accessorized with big green, emerald brooch. Malaika wore a nice, summery shade of blue paired with an ethereal necklace but she looks a little washed out.

Left: Celeb/Socialite, Right: Prerna Goel
The sari on the left is way too simple for this bling-bling wedding but I liked the gentle shading of this sari, the contrast with turquoise blue and the brocade top. Prena also wore a simple sari but it sooo elegant and the itsy-bisty straps of the top highlight her narrow shoulders.

On the Fence
Left: Rekha, Right: Aishwarya Rai
Neck up Rekha looks good but her sari has a very unfinished look. Aish wore a nice, bright color but the suit is very simple and there isn't anything that makes me go "wow".

Left: Raageshwari, Right: Suzanne
Raageshwari's suit is pretty okay but purple peep-toes?? is she color blind? Totally on the fence about Suzanne's sari and again a gold purse with silver embellished sari ?? maybe these Gals have split-personalities..

Left: Madhoo, Right: Celeb/Socialite
Madhoo wore a simple, boring golden sari. The socialite on the right, wore a really sexy cutout gown for the reception but it falls a little flat. Also, the gown doesn't go with the very traditional Kundan (looks like Kundan) jewelery. I can so kill her for the exquisite jewels:-)

Misses
Left: Celina, Right: Amisha Patel
Celina - sigh, where to start?? tacky outfit, bad makeup, unnecessary large bindi, severe hairstyle..

Amisha - I didn't like the velvet in this dress and the contrast with silver embroidery.

Yummylicious!!

Weekend round up aka 'batch update'!!

No sweat if you don't get the title of my post. Its for all my geeky readers;-) It basically means doing a single celeb post that covers the past 4 days since I was too lazy to post!!

Who: Rekha
Where: Saadiya premier

I don't criticize women over certain age and esp. if they look sooo good at 55!! But what the heck;-) Rekha has a tendency to doll up like an Indian bride, irrespective of the occasion.. Seriously, I could sell all the bling-bling she is wearing and pay off my mortgage!! But I do like her golden sari here and she looks really polished, graceful with her hair all tied up. She is also one of the few Indian actress who wears such a bright, pretty shade of red lip color..

Who: Vindu Dara Singh's wife
Where: IPL party

I am really upset that I cant find closeup shots of this dress...Anyways, Vindu Dara Singh's wife wears a lovely, abstract print dress which looks to be one-shoulder style. The print looks like floral watercolor but whatever it is, me likey..Cute peep-toes and bag..

Who: Some socialite/celeb/designer
Where: Neelam-Nriti show

The only reason I am posting this picture is because of the gorgeous color of this dress and how beautifully she contrasted it with salmon pink Bottega bag. The brown belt is equally adorable.. I do hate the ruffle sleeves and top doesn't look well-fitted..hmm, she does have nice cheek bones..
